Greta's spring 2024

Greta came through the 23/24 winter in great shape. This spring and early summer we have been working on the varnish and paint project plus a few small repairs typically found on 68-year-old wood classic boats.

A new addition is a bronze hawse hole fitting that protects the wood/fiberglass lower exit of the anchor chain hawse pipe. The wood/fiberglass finish is at considerable risk when the anchor chain is lowered or raised. I found an age-appropriate bronze fitting that was/is an almost exact fit over the existing hawse pipe exit. The bronze fitting is attached by four bolts so, if in the future we want to go back to the shiny white painted surface all that is needed is some filler for the holes and new paint.
